CV SEARCH PROCESS

Our team conducts searches across six major platforms in two phases:

  • bullet
Search One: CVs from candidates who registered within the last 3 months.
These CVs appear at the top of your list for freshness and relevance.
  • bullet
Search Two: CVs from candidates who registered more than 3 months ago.
These candidates may still be active and open to new opportunities.

COMPLETING THE ORDER FORM

IS THE ORDER FORM COMPLICATED?

icon
The order form is not complicated but does require information that needs thought, as we take the data from the questionnaire to build the search criteria. Missing a small piece of important detail could mean we miss the best person for the job.

FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE FORM

icon

Try to focus on the use of relevant single words, rather than an essay.

When entered into a search, ‘Must-Haves’ can significantly narrow the candidate pool. Before finalising these criteria, take a moment to consider: is this truly essential, or could the role be effectively performed by someone with a different or lower level of experience? A well-thought-out list of must-haves will focus on what’s truly critical, rather than reflecting an ideal that might unintentionally exclude strong candidates.

TEMPORARY OR CONTRACT

icon
Please detail likely timescale.

JOB TITLES

icon
A job title in one company can be very different in another. So please tell us how you refer to your job role, and then include any other titles the same person may have in your industry.
icon
Example:
Accounts Clerk could also be: General Accounts Clerk, Ledger Clerk, Bought/Sales/Credit Control Clerk, Figure Clerk, Book-keeper.

Think about the knowledge needed in the role — your Accounts Clerk might manage everything accounting-related in your department right up to final accounts at year end, or in another company could be doing bought ledger and credit control, the same job title BUT very different roles.

Specialist Machine Operators: Name the machine they are working on (or a similar one). Think: are there other machines that use similar skills which would allow easy crossover into their job role?

Customer Service Operator: This title varies widely by company and role. Consider these examples:
Customer Support Representative, Client Services Associate, Customer Experience Associate, Customer Care Representative, Support Specialist

Retail: Sales Floor Associate, Retail Support Specialist, Store Customer Advisor
Call Centre: Contact Centre Agent, Call Centre Representative, Inbound/Outbound Support Agent
E-commerce/Tech: User Support Specialist, Customer Success Associate, Help Desk Representative
Hospitality/Tourism: Guest Services Assistant, Front Desk Support, Concierge Support Associate

Slightly More Senior Titles:
Customer Service Executive, Client Relationship Coordinator, Customer Liaison Officer, Customer Engagement Specialist, Customer Operations Assistant

INDUSTRY

icon
As above, enter your company’s industry category, then think about other industries that may have similarities to your own — sectors where your ideal candidate might also come from.

For example: If you’re a Manufacturing Company, related industries could include: Precision Engineering, Product Development, Industrial Machinery, Aerospace Manufacturing, Civil Engineering Firms, Infrastructure Development, Structural and Geotechnical Consultancies, Vehicle Design and Testing, Railway Systems, Logistics Engineering, Aerospace, and Aviation — and many more.

OPTIONAL – COMPETITORS NAMES

icon
Obviously, this section is open to a variety of opinions regarding the employment of competitors’ staff. There is no right or wrong approach — please complete this section with relevant company names if you would like to do so.

BACK TO TWO SECTIONS OF “MUST HAVES”

icon
We will not apologise for repeating ourselves:

When entered into a search, ‘Must-Haves’ can significantly narrow the candidate pool. Before finalizing these criteria, take a moment to consider: is this truly essential, or could the role be effectively performed by someone with a different or lower level of experience?

A well-thought-out list of must-haves will focus on what’s truly critical — rather than reflecting an ideal that might unintentionally exclude strong candidates.

OTHER POINTS.

icon
Please add any points you think are relevant — however small they may seem.

Example: Dog lover. There’s no point recruiting someone allergic to dog fur if the MD brings their dog into the office and they share the desk next door.

A well-thought-out list of bullet points that relate to the role will help focus the search on what’s truly critical — ensuring we match you with strong candidates who genuinely fit your working environment and expectations.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

icon
Salary is an important consideration, so please provide a salary band (minimum to maximum). If your maximum salary is fixed, we recommend listing a slightly lower top figure — typically £2,000 to £3,000 less. Example: If the maximum salary is £30,000, consider advertising the band as £22,000–£27,000. This approach helps attract candidates whose expectations align with your offer, rather than those already earning the maximum who may be looking for a higher salary.
