Established builders merchant supplying trade and retail customers across Surrey with building materials and delivery support services.
We are recruiting for a 3.5 tonne delivery driver role in Cobham Surrey supporting trade and retail customer deliveries.
This is a hands-on role supporting customer deliveries, yard operations and warehouse activity within a busy merchant environment.
Applicants must hold a clean 3.5 tonne licence. A 7.5 tonne licence would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver building materials and customer orders safely and efficiently
- Conduct vehicle checks and basic inspections before and after journeys
- Load and unload materials securely for transport
- Maintain delivery paperwork and records accurately
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues regarding deliveries
- Follow all road safety procedures and company policies
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries
- Support warehouse and yard operations when required
- Assist with stock movement, organisation and general yard duties
Requirements
- Full clean UK 3.5 tonne driving licence
- 7.5 tonne licence advantageous but not essential
- Previous delivery driving experience preferred
- Builders merchant, warehouse or trade environment experience beneficial
- Forklift experience advantageous
- Knowledge of timber or landscaping products useful but not essential
- Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, hardworking and team-oriented attitude
- Professional appearance and positive manner
