Trade Counter Sales Person – Builders Merchant
Location: Cobham, Surrey
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000
We are recruiting for a Trade Counter Sales Person to join an established builders merchant in Cobham, Surrey.
This is a full-time, customer-facing role working with trade professionals, contractors and local customers. You’ll be responsible for handling enquiries, processing orders and providing product advice across timber, landscaping and building materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving customers face-to-face at the trade counter
- Handling telephone enquiries and online orders
- Providing quotations and processing sales
- Offering excellent customer service and product advice
- Taking a proactive approach to sales and upselling where possible
This role would suit candidates with experience in trade counter sales in Surrey or similar builders merchant environments.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a builders merchant or similar environment preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Sales-focused with the ability to build relationships
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Physically fit (some lifting may be required)
- Driving licence beneficial
Working Hours
- 7:30am – 5:00pm (Monday to Friday)
- Alternate Saturdays: 8:00am – 1:00pm
